In The Shadow by: H.R. Hyacinth

Just finished reading "In The Shadow" by H.R. Hyacinth and it was great! This book is very touching and I recommend that you take the time to read it. Great job! Bulling is a very serious issue. My daughter just went through some troubles with this and the one thing that really made me mad is when grown adults would say "they're just kids being kids". NO that is not it and we need to step in before things go to far. Mental abuse is just as harmful as physical. WE as parents and grown adults need to step up and help not only the victims but the bullies as well because they are picking on other kids for a reason (maybe a bad home life or they feel bad about themselves, regardless its a cry for help). This book will open your eyes to it all on both sides. Very well done and written. Broke my heart to know someone suffered this way, I really can't say how I would have handled the situation in either role, the poor young girl being bullied or as her parents. I even felt my heart break for the person doing the bullying. Like I said this book is an eye opener. Parents should really read this book as well as high school kids. I'm a parent and it helped to show some of the signs to look for on both sides.

The Host by: Stephenie Meyer

As we all know the movie will be out very soon and yes I will be going to watch it with one of my older daughters so I had to read the book first. I almost always find the books to be better then the movies, so I read the book then compare the movie to the book. I have to say that this book for me started out a little slow, probably due to having to explain everything that was going on so we would have a better understanding of what was happening. As you continue to read (if you haven't given up after the first few chapters) the book starts to pick up and then it becomes a great story. I wish the book would have just started towards the middle. It starts by telling you a little about the aliens or "souls" who have taken over Earth and are taking over our human bodies (the host for the souls). These "souls" are gentle creatures who cannot understand the violence we have here on Earth, so they think by coming here and taking over our bodies that they are helping us. But those who are still human do not see it that way and will fight to stay human. There are also some people who fight to stay human even with a "soul" in them, such is the case with Melanie Stryder. She will do whatever it takes to stay in her body to protect the information and whereabouts of the ones she loves. Once she finds them, they are not so nice to her because she has a "soul" known as Wanderer in her. It becomes
very hard on both of them which is what brings them closer, but the longer Wanderer stays in Melanie, the greater the chance Melanie will disappear for good. Will Wanderer give her greatest secret and biggest weapon for the humans away to save Melanie or will Melanie disappear forever?

Like I said the book starts out slow (at least for me) then picks up and gets better. I really enjoyed it once I got to the middle. I have read it twice now and will read it again. I can say that I cannot wait to see the movie. I know not everyone is a fan of Stephenie but I do enjoy her work (though I was not happy with vampires that sparkle in the sun, nothing to do with this book, just saying).

Obsession and Sacrifice by: Tiffany Carmouche

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. I would like to say that Tiffany did an awesome job with picking back up where the first book left off, which I thought was great. She also gave us the POV of all 3 main characters which let us see what they were really thinking and why they were doing the things they were doing. I felt this helped us to better understand Dylan and Bradley's motives. I am still Team Dylan but for awhile there I thought I would be very disappointed in him and that I wouldn't like him anymore but then he came back around and I fell back in love with him. Bradley is a great man as well and a part of my heart will always be in love with him as well but I believe for me its a best friend kind of love. I really hope Bradley will get his Happily Ever After. I will warn you that this book will have you crying throughout the whole thing, beginning to end. So you may want to grab a box of tissue, please don't say I didn't warn you. You will again feel the authors emotions as you read this book and you will feel what the characters are feeling which helps you connect with them in such a way that you will feel like you personally know them. I have grown such an attachment to all the characters, as well as hatred for the stalker. Please read below for some of the details but if you haven't read the first book of "The Alaska Series..... The Impostor" then you should go get your copy today and read it as well.

Not only does Nicole have a serial killer after her but she has other people trying to keep her and Dylan apart and they will do whatever it takes to stop the couple from being happy (well they try). Bradley is a friend who is there until the end and he is very loving and loyal. I love Bradley as well as Dylan. You will not regret reading this great story from the first book and I will say to the last book. I cannot wait for the last book to see how it'll end. The hardest thing I see about this will be the waiting.

Our fun story we made up on FB.

It began with a long dark night, in a creepy asylum with naked beavers who ran around screeching and biting off kid's heads and burping up brains while looking for some smore's and hotdogs. While bathing in hot blood with a rubber duck while singing ring around the moon red cheeks were mysteriously turning purple from a bloated pumpkin i ate. Infections from human intestines that were gassy and green spilling bloody shit that smells like cherries and tastes like candy riped with spider's and snakes that spit fire while humming "yankee doodle". While having popcorn and mountain dew that tasted so sweet like riped banana peel, the smell was a strong and alluring scent like sex, so smooth and sultry that they felt like they were made of guts and vigor that kept them from falling in love with everything. The naked beavers that terrorized the townspeople were running for other people. Their lives depended on outside help from a magic gnome but will turn into a leprochaun when he get's here and his gold villagers stole. While running naked he had killed two sexy men who assualted sexy penguins who were all blue with a virus that spread throughout like wildfire to his cave of sex toys. What will bring him to the cave of pleasure and do the candy corn and the cha cha mashed potato dance for all. The stars burst into a million skittles and rainbows while the leprochauns dances with the naked fairies and laugh at us but have a great time and fight with a wicked witch that casted a spell. On the kitchen counter was a very big dildo that was vibrating and making the room glow like a kaleidoscope that fits all the attachments for the dildo. While pleasing men and women yelling loudly that im cumming! at my mother's house that ive been banned and cant enter. But the pleasure box is still a public place so i must drink four and then drink more bloody mary's. I fall down and scream bloody murder when i see a naked beaver that was skinny dipping in a bloody pool of death with leprochauns wearing nothing but smiles and top hats and rings. Some say Frodo was happy and naughty because he loved the air when he smelled farts, crapped in the tin can and found at the walmart. It had a gas station bathroom to another world filled wth unicorns and wonderful things. The monkey that sparkled pretty because he was on speed and LSD which made him orange and very sexual. He was very horny and needed a hot and steamy woman to kneel down in front of him and pull down on his pants freeing his massive penis and say "yeah right!", while laughing she said "Come again ive seen bigger and better." Then i wished i had a sexy watermelon that dripped all over my core and make me feel like touching myself while singing AC/DC. You play "Thunderstruck", to make me feel like a sex goddess feind who tastes like cotton candy and watermelon and apple pie with vanilla ice cream with nuts. That made me go into a sexual frenzy fit like a tornado gone wild. Wind and rain, lightning striked, and thunder roared killing everyone but me.

Thank you to those that played we have a very crazy story that may not make sense...but it was fun!

The Impostor by: TIffany Carmouche

This is a MUST read book that I would give more then 5 out of 5 stars if possible. The events in the book are based on the Authors real life history. This is a story that every woman should read to be inspired that there is hope out there but there may be some hard rough roads that you will go on before you see the light. You will also learn that there are still some good guys out there still even when all look bad from afar. This book will also teach you that judgment needs to be done with a clear head and not with a pure heart, go with the gut and if you can't trust your own then you should go to someone you trust and talk it over with them. It will also show you what lengths true friends will go for you. It also has a mothers and fathers unwavering love for helping their children no matter how old in a time a need. This book had me crying and I'm not talking a couple of tears but a full blown "my best friend just died" crying. I felt like I was there with Nicole and Emily. I must also admit that I fell in love with both the main guys Bradley and Dylan, but if I were to pick a team I am totally team Dylan, don't get me wrong Bradley is great and part of me loves him too but Dylan really won me over. But like every relationship it can be complicated. I really believe all readers will love this book. I will give you a rough draft about the book, but I promise this book will have you wanting more which means its a good thing the second book has just hit the shelves. I cannot wait to read the second book to this trilogy and I'm sure that after reading this book that if the second one is just as good I'll be counting the days for the third. I just want to state that I Know that the second book will be just as great if not better then this one because you can FEEL the passion in the author, you can FEEL what she is feeling as she writes and that is a rare talent.

This book is about a woman named Nicole, who is in her early 20's and has a daughter named Jessica who is Nicole's whole world. Jessica's father Ronald is an abusive jerk who beats Nicole to the point of near death often. She needs to get far away from him because lets face it he will never leave her alone and will continue to beat her until it's to late and no hospital will be able to save her. Nicole had a love for painting and was going to go to school and pursue a career in that but Ronald being the controlling abusive jerk that he is didn't want her to have any part of it and beat her to near death and she never picked up a brush again because that night not only did he crush her bones but her dreams as well. Ronald doesn't pay her child support and she is struggling to make ends meet for herself and Jessica. So when Nicole meets a women named Raven she finds she might have a shot at a better job with more money and a chance to start over in a state far away from Ronald and could finally be free. But that means leaving Jessica behind with her parents until she can get settled in and on her feet. She and her best friend Emily both go to Alaska for the higher paying job and new start. They both put in many hours and meet all kinds of new people some you will like others you won't. They're life is starting to look good. Bradley their boss is a great caring guy who will do anything for his friends and helps Nicole out the best in can in all ways he can. Dylan sings in a band that plays at the bar and is super hot and known as a womanizer, but is he really? Can he change? Like I said their lives are looking better, even their love lives and Nicole is even able to bring Jessica to what Jessica calls "Alaska land". There is a serial killer on the lose killing women and it could be anyone, they could have even served the man in the bar and not know it. Just when you think Nicole and Emily will get their happily ever after things go so bad. Emily has to go home and Nicole is in grave danger, so Jessica will have to return to Maryland with Emily. The ending to this book is a very tearful to be continue end that will have you crying and ready for the next book.
