Ok so since everyone has been going crazy over the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy I decided I was going to read it and give it a try. Now normally this would not have been something I would have read but hey I had to see what the fuss was about. So lets talk about the first book. Its about a young woman named Anastasia Steele who is a college student getting ready to finish her last days of school. She is a very sweet, shy, innocent and unworldly young woman. Her best friend and roommate Kate has come down with the flu and needs Ana to fill in for her on a very important interview with the one and only hot, brilliant, intimidating and young entrepreneur Christian Grey. When Christian first meets Ana, she comes off as clumsy, shy, awkward woman who could easily be dominated by him. The whole interview is awkward for them. But something about her pulls him toward her. She also finds she wants him. Thing is she doesnt know his whole fetish with whips, chains, rods, floggers, bondage and blind folds or the fact that he has a whole red "playroom" of pain and pleasure. He wants to dominate her in every way. He thinks she would be the perfect submissive person. Now he wants to keep his private life secret so he has contracts drawn up for each woman he gets into this "relationship" with. This contract list things he wants to do and will let the woman do to him and what he won't let a woman do to him. It also allows the woman to put what she will allow to be done to her and what she won't as well as a "safe" word. He wants her bad so he is willing to work everything out and to go slowly but he wants her to be totally submissive and do everything she's told as well when he wants her to do it without asking questions. If she breaks any of the rules she will have to take her punishment which could be a hard spanking that's not sexy. She's not sure if she can really do and be what he wants and he's willing to work things through but cant give up what he is and thats a dominating guy who likes power and control.
Now I have to say that I do not like her writing style but I do like the characters and the story line. I just think maybe someone else could have wrote it better. Would I read it again yes I would, for the charaters and the story. She makes getting whipped sound sexy in a pain/pleasure kind of way. This book truly is a mommy porn and my husband was a happy man while I was reading it, I know over share right. So lets see how the movie goes.
